Story
Many of you are aware of the journey that my wife and I traveled together in 2017. If you aren’t familiar with what happened, it started when we found out we were pregnant with our first child. At the three month mark, we found out we were having a boy, and that he had a series of very complicated heart conditions. Luke was born in November of 2017, and we were able to spend a miraculous 31 days together as he fought hard, but eventually passed away due to the complications of his heart conditions.

During that time, many people supported us, and we will forever be grateful for that support. We also had fantastic doctors and nurses at Duke University Medical Center, and we’ve continued working with Duke to see how we can support them, as well as the families that will continue to use the Intensive Care Nursery. To that end, we have created the Luke Michael Blanton Fund to benefit the Intensive Care Nursery at Duke University Medical Center. The fund will have specific, targeted projects that will serve those associated with the Duke ICN, including the doctors and nurses, but especially the children and families who rely on it for their care.
Donations can be made directly to Duke Health, and are tax-deductible. To give, please go to our DONATE page, and there you may choose between a donation by mail, phone, or online. Know that 100% of your gift will go towards the comfort and privacy of families in Duke’s Intensive Care Nursery. If you aren’t able to make a donation at this time, feel free to spread the word to family, friends, or businesses that might be able to help. Even a retweet on Twitter or Facebook share is appreciated!
We have many long term goals which will be announced in the future, and all of them will center around a common theme: to serve and comfort the babies, families, nurses, and doctors that are a part of the Intensive Care Nursery at Duke University Medical Center. We would greatly appreciate anything you can do to help us in this mission!
